Awards & Accreditations Explained

BIID — British Institute of Interior Design

Lima Kitchens holds registration with the BIID, the only professional body for interior designers in the UK. Unlike the words “kitchen designer,” which anyone can use, BIID registration must be earned and maintained. Registered designers need years of combined training and experience, must hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance, and must pass a face-to-face assessment of a completed project before they’re admitted. Registration is then kept current through a required amount of continuing professional development each year and adherence to the BIID Code of Conduct.

Choosing a BIID-registered practice means the person designing your kitchen is accountable to a recognised professional standard, not only to the sale. It’s assurance that your design is in experienced, insured and properly qualified hands from the first conversation onwards.

KBSA — Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom Specialists Association

Lima Kitchens is proud to hold KBSA accreditation. The KBSA is a UK trade association representing independent kitchen, bathroom and bedroom retailers. Its purpose is to raise industry standards through professional guidance, strict codes of practice and ongoing compliance checks. Members must demonstrate high levels of design expertise, installation quality and ethical trading.

Choosing a KBSA-accredited business means the company has been professionally vetted and recognised for meeting high industry standards. It gives you confidence that your project will be handled with care, transparency and genuine expertise from start to finish.

We’re also actively involved in shaping and challenging the standards within our industry. Through live industry debate panels and Q&As, and by assessing and developing processes, we’re helping to create greater responsibility and security for both clients and small businesses.

TrustMark

Lima Kitchens holds TrustMark accreditation. TrustMark is the UK Government-endorsed quality scheme for tradespeople working in and around the home. Its purpose is to ensure businesses meet rigorous standards for technical competence, customer service, trading practices and consumer protection. Registered companies have to pass assessments and ongoing monitoring to remain on the register.

TrustMark accreditation shows that the business you’re dealing with has been independently checked and meets Government-approved standards. It gives you added protection, clear quality expectations and the reassurance that work is backed by a minimum two-year guarantee.

FHIO — Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman

The Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman is an independent, not-for-profit body providing impartial dispute resolution for the furniture and home improvement sector, including kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms. Its role is to give consumers an independent route to resolving complaints, and member businesses commit to fair trading, transparent communication and responsible handling of any issues.

FHIO membership means that if something doesn’t go to plan, you have access to an independent ombudsman who can review your case fairly and impartially. It shows the business is committed to accountability, honesty and resolving concerns professionally, giving you peace of mind throughout your project.

QANW — Quality Assured National Warranties

Lima Kitchens is delighted to be a member of QANW. QANW is one of the UK’s leading providers of Insurance Backed Guarantees and Deposit Protection Insurance for the home improvement sector. They protect homeowners by ensuring that if a contractor’s own workmanship guarantee can’t be honoured because the business has ceased trading, an insurance policy is in place to cover the cost of putting things right.

Being covered by a QANW Insurance Backed Guarantee means your project is protected by a formal insurance policy, even if the original contractor is no longer available. If the installer were to stop trading and a fault later appeared, you could make a claim through QANW and have the issue assessed and rectified.
